Answers on Sweaters

Hi Kevin,

This is in response to the article on the sweaters.  Three of my sorority sisters (Theta Chi Epsilon) are in the photo (Ruth Oake McLeod, Sparkle Harrington Worley and Julianne Hubbard Benson)  I forwarded this email to the 3 of them in case they were not on the mailing list.  Please see Julianne’s response below.

The picture was taken at the home of the placement director at Tech.  He lived east of tech on the canal. I can’t remember his name. My mother made my sweater between Thanksgiving and the start of school in January. She also worked full time. Amazing now that I think about it.

Julianne Benson ‘71

I believe that was taken at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church.  Those sweaters are what they call fair isle patterns.  Typical hand made ones come from Ireland and Scandinavia.
