COVID Policies Spring 2021

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to both teaching and learning. To address these challenges the University Senate has passed a variety of proposals designed to modify standard procedures to best support students and faculty as they navigate these new challenges and opportunities.

The following policies are in place for spring 2021:

1. Extended time to Withdraw from a class

The deadline for withdrawing from a full semester course with a grade of W is Friday, April 23, 2021, the last day of classes in the spring 2021 semester.

2. Extended time to complete a class with an I Grade

For those who receive an incomplete (or I grade) in a spring 2021 course, the deadline to finish the associated coursework has been extended to the end of the spring 2022 semester.

3. Course Retake Policy

Any courses taken during spring 2020, summer 2020, fall 2020 and spring 2021 will not count toward the limit of retaking a class a maximum of three times as stated in the University policy and may be repeated, regardless of the grade that was received. 

Eligibility for Financial Aid and GI Bill Benefits
Students who retake a previously passed course more than once may become ineligible for financial aid from the US Department of Education. For more information, see the financial aid enrollment requirements.

Students who receive GI Bill benefits cannot be certified for or receive compensation for repeating a course they have previously passed. For more information, please see the School Certifying Official in the Registrar's Office.

Pass/Low Pass/Fail option for final grades is not available in spring 2021.
