Tech Athletics Thinks Pink to Fight Cancer

In partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association, Michigan Tech Athletics is participating in Think Pink Week. Fans are asked to wear pink to show support for the fight against breast cancer during the six home games held Thursday–Saturday, Feb. 14–16.

The women’s basketball team will wear pink shoelaces, pink warm-up shirts and pink wristbands for games against Saginaw Valley State on Thursday and against Northwood on Saturday. The men will do their part by wearing matching pink warm-ups and wristbands for their games against the same opponents. The coaches will sport pink shirts and ties.

Hockey coaches and staff will don pink for their weekend series against Minnesota-Duluth, set for Friday and Saturday at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena.

Each of the five visiting teams and staffs has also agreed to participate.

In addition to wearing pink, fans are encouraged to support the cause buying a ThinkPink wristband at the games, bidding on one of the game-worn pink warm-up shirts from the men's and women's basketball teams, and participating in the Paper Airplane Toss or Chuck-A-Puck promotions. All proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.
