Abstract:

Minutes, 1952-1955, of Ivy Rebekah Lodge # 163, a chapter of the fraternal order residing in Lake Linden, Michigan.

The Rebekahs are a branch of the International Order of Odd Fellows and is both a fraternal order and service organization. The Daughters of Rebekah came into existence September 20, 1851 in Baltimore, Maryland with the adaptation of the Rebekah Degree by the Grand Lodge of the United States. The first Rebekah Lodge was instituted on October 22, 1868 in Bloomfield, Iowa. The name Daughters of Rebekah was eventually changed to the Rebekahs and now operates as its own branch of the Odd Fellows. Rebekahs are committed to community service, faithful to their countries, and share a belief in a Supreme Being, Creator and Preserver of the Universe.
