Welcome to all of our new International students! We are excited that you're here. We hope that your travels were safe and that you are settling into your accommodations and making new connections.
As you know, Michigan Tech attracts a diverse student population from around the world. To help you adjust to Tech's academic and social community, all new international undergraduate, transfer, exchange, and graduate students are required to participate in a series of seven, one-hour Life@Michigan Tech workshops that provide the knowledge and tools to adapt to college culture.
The workshop series is offered every semester. You will be notified via e-mail of your workshop session dates, time, and location. There is no additional cost to you for these workshops and they will not be listed on your class schedule.
The workshop topics include:
- How to maintain your immigration status
- Culture shock and adjusting to life in the U.S.
- Laws, policies, and norms of the U.S.A.
- Campus safety
- Academic Integrity
- Title IX laws and policies
- Consent and Bystander Intervention
- Current student panel Q & A
