Life@Michigan Tech

As you know, Michigan Tech attracts a diverse student population from around the world.  To help you adjust to Tech's academic and social community, all new international students are required to participate in the Life@Michigan Tech seminar that provide the knowledge and tools to adapt to Michigan Tech.

The seminar is offered every semester.  The next session begins January 9, 2023. You will be notified via e-mail of your workshop session dates, time, and location.  There is no additional cost to you for these workshops and they will not be listed on your class schedule.

The workshop topics include:

  • How to maintain your immigration status
  • Culture shock and adjusting to life in the U.S.
  • Laws, policies, and norms of the U.S.A.
  • Campus safety
  • Academic Integrity
  • Title IX laws and policies
  • Consent and Bystander Intervention
  • Current student panel Q & A
