Dominican Republic Trip

Women’s Basketball is planning a trip to play internationally. The team will play 2-3 games while there; tour the city of Santo Domingo, “Three Eyes” and The Cathedral; host a clinic for underprivileged children where we will also donate clothes and equipment; take a Catamaran Cruise to Soana Island; and get a lot of great team bonding time! We believe this is a great opportunity for our student-athletes to experience a whole different culture in a historic part of the world, while also building a team camaraderie and unity that will propel us to the next level in the coming years.

"It is hard to put into words how impactful this trip could be for our program. Traveling to a foreign country and seeing the world through another perspective will bring us new experiences, which will provide deeper appreciation and individual growth. This unique and life changing experience would allow us to make lasting memories and create deeper bonds with teammates and coaches. The continued support from the Michigan Tech community is one of the best things about being a student athlete. Without the generosity of program supporters, this amazing opportunity would not be possible"

Abbie Botz, Women's Basketball #12

Annual Giving

Unrestricted operating funds for Women’s Basketball where the needs are greatest, including funding for a trip to play internationally.

New Locker Room

The Women’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball teams share a locker room, the only sports teams required do that. Space is at a premium at the end of the volleyball season and the beginning of basketball season. Creating a designated locker room for each sport will enhance recruitment and improve the student-athlete experience.

Current Major Gift Needs

Head Coach Endowment Fund

A gift of $1 million establishes an endowment to supplement and/or cover the coach’s salary, to provide stability for the coaching position, and to enable the University to recruit and retain the very best coach.

Program Endowment for Equipment

Your gift of $100,000 creates a sustainable funding source of annual income that may be used to purchase new equipment and/or replace equipment that has exceeded its useful life. This annual income also could be saved over a few years to fund a major equipment investment.
