What is it and where can I use it?
The Block Meal Plan is only available to students living in Hillside Place. It provides a set number of meals that can be used throughout the semester in Douglass Houghton, McNair, or Wadsworth dining halls. Meal credits can also be used to treat a guest.
How much does it cost?
Students may choose either 75, 100, or 150 block meals per semester. Students living in Hillside Place must choose a block meal or an unlimited plan. There are no dining dollars or guest meals. The 75 block meal plan is $730 per semester, the 100 block meal plan is $945 per semester, and the 150 block meal plan is $1,320 per semester.
Does it expire?
Yes. Any meals remaining at the end of the semester will be removed.
Can I get a refund?
No, refunds are not available.
How do I buy it?
The Block Meal Plan is chosen as part of your room and board package and the charges for it will be added to your student bill. If you run out of meals during the semester, you can purchase Top Dog Express.
Who is eligible?
Students living in Hillside Place.
What is it?
A dining card can be purchased for department or group use or for an individual who does not have a HuskyCard.
How do I buy it?
Buy dining cards in person at the IT Service Center on the first floor of JR Van Pelt and Opie Library. Departments charging to a University index can email dining card requests with the account number.
Who is eligible?
Departments, and also individuals who do not have an Active HuskyCard.
What is it and where can I use it?
Dining Dollars are flexible spending dollars included with unlimited meal plans that allow students who miss a meal in the dining halls to eat at times and places that are more convenient for their schedules. or to pick up a snack during the day. They can be used like a debit account at the Campus Café, Food Court, Huski Café, Library Café, Par & Grill, and most vending machines.
How much does it cost?
The gold unlimited meal plan comes with $200 in dining dollars, and the silver unlimited meal plan comes with $100 in dining dollars.
Does it expire?
Dining Dollars you receive during fall semester carry over to spring semester, and expire after that.
Can I get a refund?
Dining Dollars included in unlimited meal plans are not refundable.
How do I buy it?
You will automatically get Dining Dollars when you sign up for your unlimited meal plan.
Who is eligible?
Students living in DHH, Wadsworth Hall, McNair, or Hillside with an active HuskyCard, and students living off campus or in Daniell Heights with an active HuskyCard.
What is it and where can I use it?
Guest meals are included with unlimited meal plans, allowing students to treat a guest to a meal in DHH, McNair, or Wadsworth dining halls. The meal plan holder must accompany the guest into the dining room and swipe the HuskyCard for themselves and their guest. Students may not use their unlimited swipes to bring a guest in, and it is against University policy to lend your HuskyCard to anyone.
How many guest meals are included with my unlimited plan?
8 guest meal passes are included in the gold unlimited plan and 4 guest meal passes are included with the silver unlimited meal plan.
Does it expire?
Yes, any remaining guest meals are removed from your ID card at the end of each semester, included any guest meals you have added.
Can I get a refund?
Guest Meals are not refundable.
How do I buy it?
You automatically receive guest meals when you sign up for an unlimited meal plan.
Who is eligible?
Students living in Hillside, DHH, Wadsworth, or McNair with an active HuskyCard, and students living off campus or in Daniell Heights.
Can I gift a guest meal to a student in need?
You can donate a guest meal to a student in need. Visit Husky Food Access Network (FAN) to learn how.
What is it and where can I use it?
Individual paper meal passes can be purchased for individuals who do not have a HuskyCard. Passes can be used to eat in DHH, McNair, or Wadsworth dining halls in an all-you-can-eat, buffet-style setting.
How much does it cost?
Each pass is $12.95.
Does it expire?
Passes do not expire but are intended to be used as soon as possible. For a long-term meal plan, buy dining cards.
Can I get a refund?
Meal passes are non-refundable.
How do I buy it?
You can purchase passes (cash or check) from the reception desks in DHH, McNair, or Wadsworth halls. If you want to charge passes to a University account number, visit the Dining Services office, in Memorial Union Building 101.
Who is eligible?
Faculty or staff with or without an active HuskyCard, and departments.
What is it and where can I use it?
When you add Top Dog Express to your HuskyCard or Department dining card, you are purchasing a set number of entries into one of the three Dining Halls—DHH, McNair, or Wadsworth with all-you-can-eat, buffet-style dining.

Does it expire?
Top Dog Express does not expire. It carries over semester to semester, year to year.
Can I get a refund?
Since meals never expire, we do not issue refunds unless you are permanently leaving the University. For specific refund questions, please stop by the IT Service Center on the first floor of the JR Van Pelt and Opie Library.
How do I buy it?
To pay with a credit card, students, faculty, and staff may go to the MyMichiganTech portal. There is another portal for parents and guests.

Unlimited meal plans are required if you live in a residence hall, but other students can also purchase them. This plan allows you an "unlimited" number of swipes into one of the dining halls: DHH, McNair, or Wadsworth for all-you-can-eat, buffet-style meals. Does it expire?
Yes. The unlimited meal plan is purchased per semester. At the end of each semester you must purchase a new plan.
Can I get a refund or change my plan?
Refunds are not available. You can change your plan up to the end of the second week of classes.
How do I buy it?
The meal plan is included in student residence hall bills as room and board. If you are a student living off-campus or in Daniell Heights, you can purchase a plan at the Residence Education and Housing Services, Wadsworth Hall Room 153W. The cost of the plan is added to your student bill.

What is it and where can I use it?
The Express Cash debit card program is available as a feature of your ID card. It operates like a no-interest checking account. You can open an account and use your ID at campus locations.

How do I buy it?
Make deposits online or in person at the Tech Express office in the Library and IT Services area on the first floor of the library. Students can check their balances at MyMichiganTech or card services.
How much does it cost?
There are no transaction fees for deposits or spending Express Cash at participating merchants. There is a $3 fee per transaction for cash withdrawals from your Express Cash balance; withdrawals can be made at the Tech Express Office during normal business hours (a minimum withdrawal of $20 and maximum of $200 with a monthly maximum of $500). The $3 is taken from your total withdrawal. If you permanently leave/disenroll from University, you can request a check for the remaining funds in your account. There is a $10 fee to issue a refund check, which is subtracted from the refunded amount.
