The College of Computing Learning Center (CCLC) is open to ALL Michigan Tech students. It is staffed by upper level undergraduate students, and supported by Michigan Tech's Office of the Provost and the College of Computing. The friendly CCLC coaches are here to help you succeed in your computer science studies. Appointments are not necessary, just stop by during open hours to study, learn, and ask questions about your computer science courses.

Computational Research Center

GLRC 105

Superior, one of the most powerful high performance computer clusters in the region, is the University's shared High-Performance Computing Infrastructure. Superior provides researchers in many areas with countless new computational tools. Superior technical specs:

  • 100 traditional CPU compute nodes, each with 16 Intel Sandy Bridge processors at 2.60 GHz and 64 GB RAM
  • 5 GPU-based compute nodes, each with four NVIDIA Tesla M2090 GPUs
  • 56 GB/s InfiniBand network
  • 48 TB of raw storage space
  • Peak performance: 31 TFLOPS (CPU) and 14 TFLOPS (GPU)

Secure and Privacy (SnP) Lab

The mission of SnP lab is to promote research and education of cybersecurity. For research, we aim to tackle cutting-edge security and privacy problems, protecting safety and assets of people from malicious attacks. For education, we are enthusiastic about broadcasting cybersecurity knowledge among graduate and undergraduate students. We are also dedicated to promoting cybersecurity training among underrepresented groups and future cybersecurity professionals through various outreach efforts.

Hardware Configuration Lab

Lab activities include network engineering, systems administration, and storage area network architecture. Students enrolled in a class scheduled in this lab have twenty-four-hour access.

Security / Network / Programming Lab

EERC 328

Lab activities include computer operating system architecture, programming languages, network-security engineering and design, and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), web server, Linux and Microsoft server configuration. Students enrolled in a class scheduled in this lab have twenty-four-hour access.

NUCOR Industrial Control and Automation Lab

EERC 427

Lab activities include analog and digital communications, wireless communications, robotics automation, digital system design, Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design, microprocessor architecture, programmable logic controller (PLC) design, and Senior Design projects.

Circuits and Data Acquisition Lab

EERC 431

Lab activities include electronic devices exploration, data acquisition with LabVIEW, digital signal processing, instrumentation, circuit analysis and simulation, printed circuit board design and fabrication, advanced circuit and control, and Senior Design projects.
