Who Can Participate

The Michigan Tech College of Business conducts recruitment efforts to field several teams for the upcoming competition season in the fall semesters around Spring registration time.   If you have taken a project management course (OSM3200, OSM4300 or ENG4300), then you have the prerequisite to participate in this internship-like opportunity.

Prizes

Each team will have four to six team members. The winning team receives $5,000 to split amongst its members; however, all top-three finishing teams will receive a monetary reward for their success.

Benefits

Each year the event sponsor—the Western Michigan Chapter of the Project Management Institute—provides Project Management Institute student memberships ($32.00 value) along with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) ($49.50 value) to each team member.

You will obtain preparation for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam by taking this course.

Additional benefits include semester-long mentoring from two seasoned and certified professionals from companies in West Michigan.

Finally, students often obtain internships and career jobs from their participation.
