Tips to Find Internships and Co-Ops
- Update your profile in Handshake. Employers on Handshake love to hire Huskies! Upload your resume and watch for job, internship, and co-op opportunities. This allows employers to find you and allows you to find employers. Jobs are posted year-round.
- Get involved with a club or organization. Many student groups attend job fairs, take industry trips, and more. This is an excellent way to network on multiple levels.
- Get involved with Applied Computing organizations or Computer Science Enterprise groups.
- Talk with your professors. Employers sometimes seek students to hire by contacting faculty.
- Talk with your Applied Computing or Computer Science advisor.
- Watch the Weekly Download and the student news blog for internship and co-op opportunities.
- Attend Career Fair . Register and schedule potential employer meetings prior to the event. Talk with potential employers.
- Attend Career Services and CareerFEST events.
- Meet with a Career Coach.
- Search and apply for positions on Michigan's STEM Forward website.
