Why did you choose Michigan Tech?
I heard about the winters and wanted to experience it for myself!

Please tell us about a memorable experience you had during your time at Tech.
I really enjoyed sledding with friends, the drag show, and traveling with Mind Trekkers

How well did Michigan Tech prepare you for your career?
Pretty well.

What was your first job after graduation and how did you secure it?
I’m currently a PhD student and Research Assistant at Virginia Tech. I secured the Research Assistant position because of my amazing experiences with Mind Trekkers and NSBE’s Alternative Spring Break.

Tell us about a few of your career highlights and notable achievements.
For my research project, our group started a robotics team at an underserved school in the Mississippi Delta. We’re researching the effects the program has on students' interest in STEM careers and self efficacy in STEM subjects.

What advice on being successful would you give to Tech students and young alumni?
Take some time to discover what you’re passionate about and go for it, even if it means changing your original plans or a change of scenery.
