Master's Degree Options

Bachelor's + 1 Year = Master's Degree

Our accelerated master's degree program is a faster, easier way for Michigan Tech students to earn a master's degree. Up to approved six credits from your bachelor's degree can be applied towards your accelerated master's degree. Consult your graduate program director for your individualized plan. If you're thinking about pursuing a master's following your bachelor's this option may be the right choice for you. 

How Does It Work?

For your accelerated master's, you can double count 6 credit hours toward both degrees, and still be eligible for Senior Rule—saving time and money.

Eligibility Requirements

Do you qualify? Here's a checklist.

To be considered for the accelerated master’s program, you must:

  • Be a current Michigan Tech undergraduate student in good standing
  • Achieved at least junior-level standing
  • Plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in an area of study that offers the program
  • Intend to complete both your bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Michigan Tech
  • Not have completed your bachelor’s degree or started your graduate studies (if you are currently enrolled in a graduate program you cannot retroactively enroll in the accelerated master’s program)
  • Apply for admission through the Graduate School application process
