Fiddler on the Roof

Fiddler on the Roof

A musical theatre classic featuring memorable tunes including If I Were a Rich Man, Sunrise, Sunset, and (of course) Tradition! Economic depression, threats of war, ethnic hatred and violence grab at Tevye’s shirt sleeve as he makes his way through the world caring for his family and horse, seeing his children married well, and dreaming of a better life. Tevye is “every man,” every one of us who share hope, joy, and heartache. He happens to be Jewish and offers his own special sense of humor when reflecting upon our mutual situation. He too forsakes the rigidity of tradition to embrace the flow of life. Fiddler on the Roof remains one of the world’s favorite musicals, for just these reasons it affirms the goodness and oddness of life, of love.
