Biography
Ceramic artist Jess Kane has studied at the University of Michigan, Northern Michigan University and The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. In 2011 she left her position at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena Montana, to build a home studio in Calumet . She has spent much of the last two years making art and growing with her daughter in her new home in the UP. Her ceramics can be seen locally in several galleries including the Vertin and the CCCAC. Her current work plays with different types of memory; contrived, nostalgic, actual, biological, physical, and how the way we catalog our experience informs the future.
