2017 Bridgefest Parade Lineup on Cliff Drive

At 5 p.m. on June 16, Cliff Drive will become a one-way west bound only roadway. This will allow for the parade lineup occurring for Bridgefest.

The parade participants will be lining up in the north bound lane entering Cliff Drive near Lot 10. Each parking lot exit along Cliff Drive will have one-way signage to turn left only and the south bound lane will be open for thru traffic.

The Parade starts at 7 p.m. and Cliff Drive will return to its normal operations after the last final parade participant clears the roadway. Thanks for your understanding.

GMES Speaker Monday

The Department of Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences will host Ashis Bhattacherjee from the Indian Institute of Technology. The presentation will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday (June 12) in Dow 610. 

Bhattacherjee, a professor in the Department of Mining Engineering at the IIT, will present "Risk Assessment of Coal Mines for Enhancement of Safety; Emerging Trends in India and Across the Globe."

The mining industry in India has experienced a considerable amount of success for the improvement of safety in coal mines over the last tow decades. In order to further improve the safety standards in coal mines there is a need to make a radical change in the way the safety issues are currently being looked upon by the indian coal mining industry. Effective application of risk assessment tools is necessary to enhance the identification of quantification of potential hazards and to suggest effective solutions.

Panopto-Huskycast Video Platform Scheduled Maintenance Downtime

The Panopto-Huskycast video platform will be unavailable between 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. EDT Saturday (June 10) due to a planned system upgrade. During this time you will not be able to access recordings and any attempts to upload from recorder clients will result in a "Server unable to connect" message.

New Funding

Richelle Winkler (SS/GLRC) is the principal investigator on a project that has received $17,128 contract with the Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Regions (WUPPDR). The project is, "L'Anse Community Solar Study."

This is a one-year project.
