Board of Control Meets Friday, Dec. 11
The Board of Control will hold its regular meeting at 9 a.m., Friday, Dec. 11, in the Memorial Union Building.
Board Member Lenora Ashford and Interim Provost Max Seel will report on Michigan Tech's many programs involving K-12 teachers and students, including more than 20 projects supported by $12.7 million in outside funding, science teacher certification in 11 fields and the only Peace Corps Master's International Program in Science Education in the nation.
The Board is also expected to approve awarding more than 400 degrees at Midyear Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 12, to consider amendments to the constitution and bylaws of the Graduate Student Council--including a change of name to Graduate Student Government--and to authorize the University to proceed with the final design and construction bids for the Great Lakes Research Center.
