Cool Facts

The School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science is located within the largest continuous hardwood forest in the United States. Students spend one term at the Ford Forestry Center taking outdoor classes and learning the applied side of the profession. Our students can choose to spend a semester attending a University in Mexico in a region that has both rainforests and glaciers. All students in the program have use of the Otter River Cabin just 20 miles South of campus and located adjacent to a trout stream. Michigan Tech is the only Michigan university in the National Student Exchange, a program that gives Michigan residents a chance to study for up to a year at one of 148 other universities in the United States.
