Michigan Tech students and alumnae enjoyed a lively meetup in Philadelphia as part of the Society of Women Engineers annual conference WE16 the weekend of October 28.

The Michigan Tech SWE section sponsored 16 students to attend the conference for professional development.

Key Highlights from the conference include Michigan Tech alumna and current University of Michigan graduate student Elizabeth Dreyer receiving the Outstanding Collegiate Member Award, Michigan Tech graduate student Renee Oates and Michigan Tech alumna and current Iowa State graduate student Patricia Thompson presenting in the research poster competition, and the first ever Michigan Tech Enterprise team competing in the Boeing Team Tech competition with their Caterpillar sponsored research project and winning first place, and the Michigan Tech SWE chapter being awarded silver medal for Outstanding Collegiate Section.
