Superior Ideas is Michigan Tech’s crowdsourced fundraising site, filled with exciting, cutting-edge research projects. This time we highlight an aquaponics project. From the project description:

Aquaponics is the integration of fish farming (aquaculture) and growing plants without soil (hydroponics). This creates a mutually supportive circulatory system between the fish and the plants. The aquaponics system at Michigan Tech has become a STEM teaching tool for over 1,500 students in the community.
