Alumni and Friends: Support the Washington Experience

Michigan Tech’s Office of Federal Relations, the Department of Social Sciences, and Career Services have developed the Washington Experience to introduce students to careers in public policy.

This new program offers two opportunities for Michigan Tech students to spend time in our nation’s capital and to learn in-person about professional careers in public policy.

To support these new initiatives, Michigan Tech has launched an effort to raise $40,000 for scholarships and travel funds. Alumni and friends can provide support through contributions made to the Michigan Tech Fund where the Washington Experience account has been established.

The Washington Experience combines internships and leadership programs to empower and motivate students to become engaged global citizens.

Your support will provide two students per year to participate in an internship where they will experience cultural and historic aspects of policy in the Washington DC area.

And, 12 students will spend time in Washington DC as part of a spring break experience to explore careers in federal agencies, global nonprofits, and Capitol Hill.
