June 9, 2007—6th Annual Houghton Spring Arts & Music Festival in Houghton’s beautifuldowntown. Events include an art fair with demonstrating artists, a giant puppet parade, and a lively variety of music by local and regional musicians.

June 10, 2007—The 34th Annual Lake Linden-Hubbell Sportsmen's Club Fishing Derby is at Rice Lake. Enjoy a day of family fun with prizes, lunch and refreshments for all ages. For information call Dave at (906) 298-9431.

June 14-16, 2007—The Seafood Fest, sponsored by the Houghton Rotary Club, is held on the Houghton waterfront in conjunction with Bridgefest. Come and sample your favorite seafood, listen to the music and join in the fun. For information call (906) 482-5240 or (866) 304-KPCC.

June 15-17, 2007—The Bridgefest Celebration takes place at various locations throughout Houghton and Hancock. It includes a parade, arts and crafts show, live entertainment, jet ski races, dances, fireworks and much more. June 16-17, 2007—The annual Keweenaw Chain Drive Festival Mountain Bike Races test mountain bikers' endurance and technical ability. Registration forms and on-line registration are available on the website. For race details contact Lori Hauswirth at haus@chartermi.net.

June 16, 2007—The Longest Day Fishing Tournament is held on the waters of Lac La Belle, Copper Harbor, Eagle Harbor and Lake Medora. For more information call (906) 289-4637.

June 22-23, 2007—The American Cancer Society sponsored Relay for Life takes place at the Houghton High School Track and runs from 1 pm Friday to 1 pm Saturday. For information call Kathy at (906) 482-3550.

June 29-July 1, 2007—50th Annual International Frisbee Tournament at the Driving Park in Hancock. Teams from around the globe will compete for the Nachazel Cup. http://www.gutsfrisbee.com

June 29-July 1, 2007—PastyFest 2007 at the Calumet Theatre Park.  Includes Pasty eating contest, pasty king and queen coronation, and live music.

July 6-7, 2007—The Strawberry Festival, held in the downtown Chassell area, is two days of family fun. Events include an Arts & Crafts show, horse-drawn wagon rides, a fish boil, live music and entertainment, a children's parade, awards and auction, queen crowning and dance, a French Toast Breakfast. July 21, 2007—The 31st Annual Republic Bank Canal Run includes a 10 mile run and a 10 mile competitive walk from McLain State Park to Hancock. The run begins at 8 am at McLain State Park on M-203 west of Hancock. The walk begins at 7 am. August 4, 2007—The Copperman Triathlon comes to Ft. Wilkins State Park on US-41 in Copper Harbor on Saturday, August 5. Swim tranquil Lake Fanny Hooe, bike the rocky shores of Lake Superior & run through the wilderness on shaded roads. Sponsored by the Keweenaw Memorial Medical Center. August 11-12, 2007—St. Peters by the Sea on M-26 in Eagle Harbor hosts the annual Eagle Harbor Art Show from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, August 12 and from noon to 4 pm on Sunday, August 13. For information and entry forms contact Edith Wiard at (906) 337-5066 or ewiard@up.net.

August 18, 2007—The annual Heritage Celebration takes place in Agassiz Park on 4th Street in Calumet.  Activities begin with a pannekukku and Norwegian pancake breakfast and are followed by the historic preservation awards, a horseshoe tournament, live music with Jan Arnold, guided tours of historic churches by horse and wagon and old-fashioned children's games. August 18-19, 2007—"Artwork, entertainment and refreshments all together in one of the most beautiful settings in the mid-west." The 19th annual Art in the Park will be held at the Grant Township Park in downtown Copper Harbor from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19 with live entertainment both days. August 23-26, 2007—Houghton County Fair held at the fairgrounds on Birch Street in Hancock, it includes a carnival, exhibits, demolition derby, motocross, monster trucks and much, much more.
