July 21, 2007—The 31st Annual Republic Bank Canal Run includes a 10 mile run and a 10 mile competitive walk from McLain State Park to Hancock. The run begins at 8 am at McLain State Park on M-203 west of Hancock. The walk begins at 7 am. August 18, 2007—The annual Heritage Celebration takes place in Agassiz Park on 4th Street in Calumet.  Activities begin with a pannekukku and Norwegian pancake breakfast and are followed by the historic preservation awards, a horseshoe tournament, live music with Jan Arnold, guided tours of historic churches by horse and wagon and old-fashioned children's games. August 18-19, 2007—"Artwork, entertainment and refreshments all together in one of the most beautiful settings in the mid-west."
