Operations Assistant

The Operations Assistants look after the residence halls or apartments after the professional staff have left for the day. It may be as simple as discovering where a leak is coming from, or being available at all hours of the night for whatever may happen. There is always one who is on-call and close to the building to help with the surprises that occur on a minute's notice.

Myder Vang

Orientation Team Leader

"I enjoyed being an Orientation Team Leader, because to me it wasn't work; I loved every single moment in being able to aid new incoming students and their families during Orientation.  Through the difficulties and fun within this amazing week, I was not only able to improve my communication skills but grow as a leader.  I would recommend this position to individuals with the motivation to improve themselves and a strong passion to help new students adjust to the Michigan Tech community."

ExSEL Student Tutor

I love working with ExSEL as a student tutor because it is an incredibly rewarding job. You become close with your student and it is fun to see them succeed. Also, it helps you review class work that you have previously taken making yourself a better student, as well. Lastly, it is just plain fun!
