Transportation

Yes, it’s amazing but true. If you don’t have your own car, you can still get around town, and you never have to worry about where to park. Check the yellow pages for taxis, car rentals, and other transportation services available in the area.

Getting Around Town

Hancock Public Transit

The city of Hancock operates a motor transit service in the Houghton-Hancock area. The service area ranges from Portage Health to Ripley, throughout Hancock, the SDC, the MUB, Econofoods, WalMart, and more.

Houghton Motor Transit

The city of Houghton operates route service and demand service in the Houghton-Hancock area and on campus at the MUB and Daniell Heights. Look for the red, white, and blue buses that are equipped with wheelchair lifts.

Long Distance Travel

Indian Trails Motor Coach

Indian Trails provides service throughout Michigan and the US. It stops at the MUB and at 616 Shelden Avenue (City Center). Its travel center is located at the Shottle Bop in downtown Hancock.

Skywest (United) Airlines

Skywest Airlines is part of United Express and operates out of Houghton County Memorial Airport (CMX) in Hancock.
