Campus Emergency Phones

Emergency telephones are available throughout the campus. The telephones are easily identifiable, marked by a blue light and encased in a bright yellow box. Emergency phones can be found at the following locations:

  1. Intersection of Cliff Drive and US 41 near Lot 10
  2. MacInnes Drive (Near driveway to Portage Health Clinic)
  3. Daniell Heights at the intersection of Division and Woodmar
  4. Upper Daniell Heights, storage building
  5. East Wadsworth Hall, loading dock
  6. Fisher Hall, north entrance
  7. Lot 26 (commuter student parking), west and east walkway
  8. Central Stores lakefront, southeast corner of building
  9. Minerals and Materials Engineering (M&M) Building, north side
  10. U. J. Noblet Forestry Building, southeast corner, Lot 18
  11. J. R. Van Pelt and Opie Library, north side, northwest and northeast entrances
  12. Rekhi Hall, west side
  13. Administration Building, northeast vestibule
  14. Walker Arts and Humanities Center, southwest vestibule
  15. West Wadsworth Hall, first floor west end
  16. McNair Hall, main entrance, Lot 16

To be immediately connected with a Police Services dispatcher, press the red button located inside the yellow box. Speak clearly and slowly and advise the dispatcher of your emergency situation.

University Closure Guidelines

The president, vice president/provost, or their designated representative may close the University
due to unforeseen circumstances (examples might include prolonged power outage, prolonged loss
of heating capability, inclement weather). Students, faculty, and staff will be notified through the
University’s Safety First Alert system, local media, and the University website.
