Few homecoming festivities on any campus can rival Michigan Tech’s for zaniness and all-around fun! In addition to the football game, the celebration features a parade, the crowning of the homecoming king and queen, a cardboard boat race, competitive challenges, and many other events that promote Husky Spirit.
HOMECOMING 2012
Kick Off:
2500 homecoming cups were distributed to students and staff with the help of the Women’s Basketball team and Men’s Hockey team as well as the homecoming committee to the musical talents of Chinua Hawk.

Parade:
The City of Houghton, Student Life Staff, and Public Safety and Police Services helped create a successful and safe homecoming parade through downtown Houghton.
Pep Rally:
The pep rally included performances by the Michigan Tech Dance Team, an introduction of the Court candidates, and spirit provided by the pep band and Senior Husky Football Players.
Cardboard Boat Races:
Class A: 1001 College Ave. with a time of 1:11
Class B: Alpha Sigma Tau with a time of 1:41
Class C: Raptor with a time of 1:21

With Raptor House in Housing being crowned the overall champions!
Coronation was capped off with the Huskies beating Northwood 28-21 in football!
The week came to a close with the annual student-alumni broomball tournament.
The Pirate Sheep won the championship game which was played directly following
Husky hockey 8-4 win over Lake Superior State.
