Project Title: Increasing Enrollment of Undergraduate Women

Abstract: Because both female and male students at MTU typically cite the MTU community's low numbers of women as a major problem on the MTU campus, the authors of this Letter of Intent suspect that overall undergraduate enrollment could be increased by increasing the number of women on campus. The P.I.s will undertake the following projects aimed at increasing the enrollment of women.
1) Inform MTU recruiters about the activities of women on campus, and identify schools with high percentages of women throughout the upper midwest as recruiting targets.
2) Develop a short video that specifically emphasizes the activities and achievements of MTU women that can be used to encourage women to attend the university.
3) Develop, administer, and interpret a survey designed to identify the impediments faced by female role models (faculty women) on campus.
