Project Title: More Efficient and Less Intrusive Computation Monitoring with Quasi-static Analysis

Abstract: Many modern monitoring systems have an increasing reliance on computer applications that are distributed across many platforms. As an example, aircraft control systems must be able to monitor the location of multiple aircraft to ensure their flight paths do not intersect by using computer applications that are distributed across multiple aircraft and monitoring stations. Our research will combine two existing research projects at MTU to develop novel tools and techniques for more efficient and less intrusive monitoring of distributed applications such as the one above. These monitoring technology improvements will be attained through a combination of compile-time analysis of program source code and run-time execution evaluation.
