Plan: Letter of Intent Project Title:
On Campus Open House Abstract:
The On Campus Open House will make the entire campus community available
to prospective students and families on one day. The first event will
be held in March or April 2002 with an annual fall event (late September/early
October) held thereafter. Every department will be encouraged to prepare
interactive displays and/or hands-on sessions to showcase the unique features,
quality and advantages of MTU. MTU is one of the only universities that does not hold an open house. Historically 2/3 of all students who visit campus, enroll at the university. Funding will be used for promotion and hosting the event. The opportunity for prospective students to visit with representatives from all areas of interest (departments, admissions, financial aid, fine arts, etc) and currently enrolled students will enhance their perception of MTU.
