Project Title: Expansion and Renovation of Memorial Union Building

Abstract: Renovation and expansion would enable the Memorial Union to become the center for campus activities and a robust student life. The project would enhance the facility architecturally and functionally so that the MUB can become the "gateway" to Michigan Tech.
Goals of the project include:

• Add adequate space for student activities and customer services.
• Increase student activities in the MUB.
• Improve food service operation in response to customer demand with a focus on flexibility for the future.
• Incorporate state of the art technology to provide extensive net access and flexible A/V capacity.
• Create the "gateway" to MTU by designing the building and grounds that invites socialization.
• Expand the variety of services and products available to the campus community
• Improve functionality and reduce building maintenance.
