Project Title: Diversification of Degree Programs in Engineering Technology

Abstract: This project will focus on increasing enrollment in the School of Technology by instituting baccalaureate degree options in Process Engineering Technology and Construction Engineering Technology under the existing Bachelors of Science in Engineering Technology currently offered by the School. These baccalaureate degrees can be implemented initially utilizing existing faculty and facilities. Based on the growth of the School's 4-year engineering technology programs in electrical engineering technology and mechanical engineering technology, a minimum undergraduate enrollment increase of 100 students is anticipated over three years. To sustain these increased enrollments, additional resources may need to be invested after the initial two years. Expansion of the baccalaureate technology degree options aligns with MTU's vision, which includes degree diversification in technologically focused fields of study to become a national university of choice.
