Project Title: Popularizing the A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum

Abstract: The A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum would like to make its educational resources more widely known and available to users.  We are seeking Vision Fund support to better "popularize" the museum by:

1. Improving visibility and accessibility to the existing museum facility on the 5th Floor, Electrical Engineering Resources Center including, but not limited to: billboards, campus signage, designated parking spaces and clearly marked pathways.
2. Broadly disseminating attractive, relevant mineral science educational content through Internet, PC software and distance learning means.
3. Creating a "mobile mineral museum" to carry "tangible" exhibits and educational content beyond the museum's physical boundaries to non-visiting users.

In successfully executing these initiatives the museum helps Michigan Tech achieve its Strategic Plan relative to: innovation in education, emerging technologies, residential and community campus and maximizing resources.
