Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Program
Master self-defense tactics and techniques through this course designed specifically for women ages twelve and up. The RAD program is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with a focus on awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance and progresses to the basics of hands-on defense training. The program is composed of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques, but is not a martial arts program.
This program is offered by the Department of Public Safety and Police Services through Michigan Tech's Community Programs and the course is taught by our officers. It combines both classroom instruction and hands-on physical training.
When sessions are available registration and payment can be completed online, by phone at 906-487-2073, or in person at the SDC Ticket Office. For more information or questions about Michigan Tech's RAD program contact Detective Lieutenant Reid DeVoge at 906-487-2216. You can also visit the RAD Systems of Self Defense national website.
