Matt Mosher, a senior from Wausau, Wisconsin, majors in physics. He aspires to be a research scientist in theoretical or high-energy physics.
He came to Michigan Tech because of its small size and great reputation.
“Couldn’t be happier,” he says. “I have the personal attention that I want, have gotten the instruction that I want, and have had as many opportunities outside of class that anyone could want.” He
especially likes the small class sizes, and the fact that, except for two labs
over four years, all of his classes have been taught by professors, not graduate
teaching assistants. Matt has also been instrumental in developing websites for Michigan Tech since he was a first-year student.
He also likes the wide variety of student organizations, including the Full
Throttle Motorcycle Club, the Society of Physics Students, New Innovations
in Tech Entertainment, and the Air Force ROTC program.
His recommendation to other Wisconsin students: “Excellent school and great support community.”
