Gary Campbell began teaching in the School of Business and Economics at Michigan Tech in 1982. He helped establish the MS in Applied Natural Resource Economics in 1983. He serves as coordinator for both the MS program and the Peace Corps Master’s International program.
Once a Fulbright Scholar in Ethiopia, Gary taught students at Addis Ababa University and gave seminars on the economics of natural resources. This experience led him to form academic partnerships in Burundi, Eritrea, and South Africa. His areas of research and teaching interests include metal markets, natural resource economics, principles of economics, international economics, sustainability of mining, and social decision-making.
