Michigan Technological University's Family Weekend is set for Friday-Sunday, Oct. 2-4. The annual event gives students' families a taste of both the University and the natural beauty of the Keweenaw Peninsula.
"Family Weekend is a great opportunity for students to show off their new home to their families," said Michelle Nightingale, assistant director of COMPASS. “We highlight the area, and there are lots of things to do, from a tour of the Quincy Mine to a canoe trip on the Sturgeon River.”
More than 350 families have registered for Family Weekend. Family members can attend class with their students, try out the University’s High Ropes Challenge Course, dance at the Gala Latina, take a color tour from the Mont Ripley chair lift, bowl with Blizzard T. Husky and much more.
