IT & Healthcare

The advancement and evolution of both Information Technology (IT) and the healthcare field has provided the opportunity to develop new systems, applications and methods of aiding physicians and medical staff in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.  Information Technology has become and will remain a critical role in providing a high-level of care to its users.  From embedded systems and mobile devices of patient health monitoring via sensors, to image-analysis and disease detection,  healthcare depends on IT.  Finding individuals who are knowledgeable in developing systems/applications with a strong background in healthcare will be key.

Graduates of  Michigan Tech's Medical Informatics program will possess the skills and knowledge to play an important part in creating and delivering new technologies in the medical sector and other affiliated fields of industry. The future in healthcare is technology and it continues to grow quickly.
