The Michigan Technological University Archives and Copper Country Historical Collections serves a variety of researchers interested in the history of the Keweenaw Peninsula and Michigan's historic copper mining district. Visitors may explore a wide range of content and topics, everything from photographs and genealogical records to mining company records and local newspapers.

Programs and Services
The Archives provides a number of programs and services to the public. The department presents interpretive exhibits, sponsors an archival speakers series to share information about current research conducted in our holdings, and supports a travel grant program that helps out-of-town scholars visit Houghton to undertake research. Collections include more than 7,000 cubic feet of print, graphic and manuscript resources covering university and campus life, towns and cities in the Keweenaw, and the companies, social organizations, events, and personalities of the Copper Country and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
