Annual Climatological SummaryAn annual summary of monthly temperature means, departures from normal and extremes (participating locations), heating & cooling degree data, and precipitation totals, departures from normal and extremes. A monthly tally of rain days, snow days and days within selected temperature thresholds is also included. Available for thousands of US locations. On campus access only
Climatological Data PublicationsMonthly editions contain station daily maximum and minimum temperatures and precipitation. Some stations provide daily snowfall, snow depth, evaporation, and soil temperature data. Each issue also contains monthly summaries for heating and cooling degree days (65 degrees Fbase). The July issue also contains monthly heating degree days and snow data for the preceding July through June. The annual issue contains monthly and annual averages of temperature, precipitation, temperature extremes, freeze data, soil temperatures, evaporation, and a recap of monthly cooling degree days. Note that climatological Data has existed in some form since 1890. This publication does include many locations, it does not include all climatic stations for any given time. In some rare cases, there are gaps in the archives available. The climatic stations available today have not always been available for publication. On campus access only
Edited Local Climatological Data and annualEdited observations at 3 hourly intervals, daily, and monthly summaries for over 270 U.S. locations for period July 1996 to currently available (usually this product is 4-6 weeks behind the current date due to quality control editing process)On campus access only
Hourly Precipitation DataContains hourly precipitation amounts obtained from recording rain gages located at National Weather Service, Federal Aviation Administration, and cooperative observer stations. On campus access only
Local Climatological Data PublicationA monthly summary from major airport weather stations that includes a daily account of temperature extremes, degree days, precipitation and winds. Also included are the hourly precipitation and abbreviated 3-hourly weather observations. Michigan Tech has access to these data that includes access to all back issues that are online. On campus access onl
Monthly Climatic Data for the WorldMonthly issues contains monthly mean temperature, pressure, precipitation, vapor pressure, and sunshine for approximately 2,000 surface data collection stations worldwide and monthly mean upper air temperatures, dew point depressions, and wind Velocities for approximately 500 observing sites. This is the final quality controlled copy and generally has a 4 - 6 month time lag. On campus access only
Monthly Climate NormsThis product includes normals of average monthly and annual maximum, minimum, and mean temperature (degrees F), monthly and annual total precipitation (inches), and heating and cooling degree days (base 65 degrees F) for individual locations for the 1971-2000 period. On campus access only
Storm DataMonthly issues contain a chronological listing, by states, of storm occurrences and unusual weather phenomena. Reports contain information on storm paths, deaths, injuries, and property damage. An "Outstanding storms of the month" section highlights severe weather events with photographs, illustrations, and narratives. Users may also search the  NCDC Storm Event database to find various types of storms recorded in your county or use other selection criteria as desired. On campus access only
Unedited Local Climatological DataConsists of unedited hourly, daily, and monthly summaries for over 700 U.S. locations. ASCII comma-delimited version is provided for those who desire to import the data into other applications. The data provided are preliminary and have not gone through full, quality control processing. On campus access only
U. S. Climate Norms, DailyIncludes daily 1971-2000 normal maximum, minimum, and mean temperature (degrees F), heating and cooling degree days (base 65 degrees F), and precipitation (inches) for selected cooperative and First-Order stations. Monthly, seasonal, and annual normals of these elements are also presented. Monthly and annual precipitation probabilities and quintiles are also included. On campus access only
