As a major, you will gain a strong grounding in both the business of sports/fitness and the science of human movement, physiology, and more. Graduates are prepared to enter the health/fitness or sports industry. Employment opportunities include personal trainer, fitness center director, strength and conditioning coach, sports and fitness administrator, sports marketing and communications specialist, coach, and more.
Do you have a gift for supporting others in achieving their goals? Our coaching minor or certificate will equip you with the fundamental training necessary for involvement in youth, high school, or collegiate athletics, as well as recreational or club sports. You will have the opportunity to assist with coaching a sporting activity of your choice for 40–60 hours.
This graduate program, pending accreditation, will allow students to earn Central Michigan University’s doctorate in physical therapy at Michigan Tech. Lectures and laboratories held at CMU will be transmitted live to the Michigan Tech campus in an innovative, distance-learning format.
