Welcome to all of our new International students! We are excited that you're here. We hope that your travels were safe and that you are settling into your accommodations and making new connections.
As you know, Michigan Tech attracts a diverse student population from around the world. To help you adjust to Tech's academic and social community, all new international undergraduate, transfer, exchange, and graduate students are required to participate in a series of seven, one-hour Life@Michigan Tech workshops that provide the knowledge and tools to adapt to college culture.
The workshop series will begin the first week of the semester. You will be notified via e-mail of your workshop session dates, time, and location. There is no additional cost to you for these workshops and they will not be listed on your class schedule.
The workshop topics include:
- Culture shock
- American culture
- Laws, policies, and norms of the U.S.A.
- Life at Michigan Tech and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
- Campus safety
- Title IX laws and policies
- Gender Identity
- Bystander Intervention
... and a current student panel Q & A
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
