Annual Elementary School Poster Display
Each year, the Parade of Nations Committee will select two local elementary schools to participate and display their posters at the Multicultural Celebration in the Dee Stadium. The students use their imaginations and creatively express their vision of the event, cultural heritage or family traditions through drawings.
Promoting the Arts
Each year's art display incorporates the Parade of Nations theme and is viewed by thousands of people from all over the U.P. The posters they create are unique and express the young individual’s life experiences and culture.
Participating Schools
The two selected schools will each be awarded $250 to help defray the costs of art supplies. Michigan Tech Enrollment Services and Student Life Offices has donated funds each year to support this event and we hope to continue to find funding sources in the future.
All posters will be picked up on Thursday prior to the event, and returned to each school the following Monday.
Purpose
The Parade of Nations Committee strives to advance the culture and proud heritage of the Copper Country and to welcome students, staff and faculty from more than 60 countries. The day is filled with fun activities, education, food, art and entertainment and is dedicated to the multicultural spirit of the Parade of Nations.
