University Identity Standards and Editorial Guide

Printed Materials

Visual standards for printed material ensure consistency and facilitate a uniform voice that best represents Michigan Tech.

Our approach includes the following:

  • Use of the official logo and tagline
  • Contemporary typography
  • A color palette that complements the official University colors
  • Images that reflect energy, intellectual curiosity, and a sense of adventure
  • Key messages that support the University's brand

The consistent use of these elements is a simple way to establish continuity and to present a professional, unified appearance. This will create awareness of the Michigan Tech brand and foster a cohesive, recognizable identity for the University.

Communications to external audiences—advertising, brochures, annual reports, and collateral pieces such as folders—should adhere to these standards. Sample communications are shown below.

Work coordinated outside of University Marketing and Communications should be submitted for review before it is finalized. Please plan accordingly.
