Residence Education Coordinator

Desk Receptionist

  • Act as a source of information for all residents and visitors in a friendly, courteous manner
  • Handle check-out and check-in of all equipment (cookware, games, cleaning supplies, etc.)
  • Sort and distribute mail (letters, large envelopes, packages, etc.)
  • Issue spare keys and bathroom locker keys to residents
  • Answer the reception desk and DUTY phones and provide assistance as needed
  • Redirect maintenance, security, and/or safety concerns to REHS professional staff, Resident Assistants, Operations Assistants, and/or Facilities

Housing Student Employee

  • Answer phones in a timely, polite and professional manner.
  • Take phone messages in detail and deliver them to appropriate staff member.
  • Assisting with scheduling motel room reservations and take payment.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by Office Manager and other staff.
  • Must be a full-time student.

Operations Assistant

  • Serve in an on-call rotation during evenings and weekends to provide maintenance/facilities assistance to residents and staff
  • Inspect the general physical condition of the residence hall buildings and on-campus housing properties
  • Submit repair request forms for any building maintenance issues that may need professional staff attention
  • Assess maintenance problems (plumbing, heating, broken windows, etc.) and contact on-call Residence Education and Housing Services professional staff and/or Facilities staff as needed

Quad Core Fitness Center Student Supervisor

  • Provide peer oversight of the Quad Core Fitness Centers (QCFC) during evenings and weekends when professional Residence Education and Housing Services and/or Facilities staff are not present
  • Monitor QCFC members' usage of workout equipment to ensure equipment is properly used, cleaned, maintained, and/or put away
  • Collect QCFC members' feedback regarding the facilities and suggest improvements
  • Work with other Student Supervisors and the Housing Operations Coordinator to plan and implement at least two events per semester that relate to healthy and/or active living habits in some way

Resident Assistant (RA)

  • Create an inclusive community and safe living environment built upon respect.
  • Act as a positive role model.
  • Engage students in personal growth and development through learning opportunities and community building.
  • Communicate appropriately with supervisors, staff, and residents.
  • Must be a full-time student with a minimum cumulative and semester grade point average of 2.50 at time of application and maintain it throughout their time as a staff member. Must be free of any disciplinary sanctions imposed through Academic and Community Conduct at time of appointment and remain so while employed with Residence Education and Housing Services.
