Early Arrival
If you need to arrive before the residence halls officially open on Saturday January 9, 2010 due to extenuating circumstances, then please complete this portion of the on-line request form. If approved, you will receive an email confirmation through your Michigan Tech email within 7 business days. The cost to arrive before the residence halls open is $14 per night. This will be charged to your student account.
If approved, you can pick up your keys between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday in the Housing Office (153 Wads). After hours, you will need to pick up your keys at Public Safety.
Late Departure
If you need to stay after the residence halls officially close at the end of Fall semester on December 19 at noon for a day or two, then please complete this portion of the on-line request form. If approved, you will receive an email confirmation of approval through your Michigan Tech email within 7 business days. The cost to stay after the residence halls are officially closed is $14 per night. This will be charged to your student account.
Please make sure you check out with your RA before the semester ends. You may place your key taped to your yellow checkout form in your halls misaddressed mail slot upon departure.
Stay-Over-Break
If you will be returning for the spring and need to stay in the residence halls for the entire week between the end of Fall semester and the beginning of Spring semester (December 19 - January 8), then please fill out this portion of the online request form. If approved, you will receive an email confirmation of approval through your Michigan Tech email within 7 business days. The cost to stay after the residence halls officially close is $14 per night. This will be charged to your student account.
Please make sure you check out with your RA before the semester ends. You may place your key taped to your yellow checkout form in your halls misaddressed mail slot when you move to your fall semester room. When your fall semester room is ready for you, you will receive an email to pick up your key packet to begin your move.
Storage
If you are a student returning for the spring and will be living in the residence halls, Housing will allow you to store your belongings in your spring room the week between the end of Fall semester and the beginning of Spring semester (December 19 - January 8) at no additional cost. If you choose this option, you will need to work with your RA and he/she will put you on a list. Your room will be unlocked for you to store your belongings on four predetermined dates and times set by Housing.
