During the IRHC broomball season, you can catch Steve backstopping for the Sparta team. That means he’s the goalie, for those not familiar with broomball terminology. ''We had a record of 6 and 3. We did pretty good—just out of the playoffs.'' He played well enough in the regular season to also play in the all-star game. ''That was a lot of fun.''
In addition to making saves on the broomball rinks, Steve is the vice president of Sparta house and participates in Free Drank (see Ben’s profile). Other than broomball during Winter Carnival, he really enjoys watching the snow statues slowly go up.
Sparta’s own snow statue for the all-nighter turned out to be more fun than originally anticipated. ''We couldn’t find any water. We got our application in to make a statue, but not in time to be judged. So, we figured we’d have some fun with it.'' Sparta created a table and chair set made of snow, played euchre all night, and watched the fun of the all-nighter unfold.
