Undergraduate Research Expo

The Michigan Tech Honors Institute is pleased to announce the 2013 Undergraduate Research Expo. This Expo will give undergraduate researchers a chance to present posters describing their research and receive feedback from faculty and staff judges. This will not only be an excellent learning experience for the presenters, but also showcase the great undergraduate research that happens at Michigan Tech. The Expo will be held during Spring Preview Day weekend (March 22) so that visiting high school students can see some of the exciting opportunities available to them at Michigan Technological University.

In previous years, undergraduate research was displayed at the Undergraduate Expo. Recently, this event has grown to such an extent that research could no longer be displayed alongside the senior design and enterprise projects that the Undergraduate Expo is designed for. The Undergraduate Research Expo has been created as a venue for undergraduate research to be displayed.

We have been working closely with the Vice President of Research and the Undergraduate Admissions Office to make this event possible, and hopes undergraduate researchers will take advantage of this valuable experience. Printing of posters will be sponsored up to $25.  Prizes of $200, $150, and $100 will be awarded to the best 3 posters, as chosen by faculty judges.

Abstract submission is open from November 18 until January 12. Undergraduate students should submit their abstracts as an attached document to honors+expo@mtu.edu. Please see the Submission Guideline for more information.
