| Participant | Tribute Recipient | Reason for Tribute |
|---|---|---|
| Paula Nutini | Ron Helman | Ron was the person who hired me at Michigan Tech. He introduced me to fundraising and was an excellent role model because of his incredible work ethic, unsurpassed loyalty to the University, and his high level of integrity when dealing with donors. |
| Linda Ott | Dr. John Lowther | John was the first computer science faculty member at Michigan Tech and who through his efforts over 35 years played a huge role in my department being what it is today. |
| Travis Howard | Pat Hopp | When I was still in school Pat hired me as a student worker at SAS, and I benefited from his guidance greatly. Now, as a staff member, I rely on Pat (and the rest of the SAS crew!) to assist with a variety of computing issues, and I continue to benefit from his knowledge and patience. |
| John Barnes | Ted Kearly | Ted taught me how character, morals, attitude and doing the right thing can greatly impact your life and the lives of people around you allowing not only you to be a better person, but helping the people around you be better also. |
| John Irwin | Bob Stebler | Bob taught me calculus so I could understand and inspired me to return to the MTU team to teach for the school of technology MET program. Thanks! I am enjoying most every minute. |
| Brad Wagner | Armbruster Family | A wonderful family from Caro, Michigan. Both son and daughter graduated from MTU. Great values and all are big supporters/promoters for Michigan Tech. Jackie (the daughter) and Aric (the son) both married other Tech grads. Jackie was outstanding woman in business award winner. Good folks representative of so many super Michigan Tech families. |
| Maureen (Mo) Anton | Bill Roberts | I first met Bill while he was a trip leader for an Orientation Week trip to Copper Harbor. Bill’s exuberance was infectious. I remember him telling me how much he loved working with students at Michigan Tech and how much he loved his job. I remember thinking that I want to work where does! And last year I did just that! I am now working for Gloria Melton in the Dean of Students Office and I am so grateful for meeting Bill and being affected by his energy, liveliness and positive representation of Michigan Tech. |
| Dana Richter | Dr. Martin Jurgensen | Dr. Martin Jurgensen has been a cordial and outstanding mentor to students, researchers and young faculty – I have experience in all three ways! He has given a tremendous amount to the Tech community and his research field. |
| Cynthia MacDonald | Dr. John Lowther | Dr. Lowther taught all the computer science classes including the new courses in the masters program. |
