Keweenaw Research Center

Engineering Solutions | Educating Engineers

Keweenaw Research Center solves engineering problems. We provide our clients with the best possible solutions to their toughest problems at a reasonable cost.

For over half a century, we have helped our industrial clients provide reliable, durable products that enhance performance and customer safety, from anti-lock brakes and high-traction winter tires to improved stability controls. KRC is proud to be a longtime research partner with the US Army. Most recently, our engineers have developed counter-mine technologies that protect American troops in the field.

We have a solid track of service, but we aspire to do more. We need twenty-first century facilities to provide the best twenty-first century engineering.

KRC Research Areas

  • vehicle mobility
  • military systems
  • noise and vibration
  • fatigue and failure analysis
  • ground vehicle reliability
  • snow research
  • alternative energy and fuels

KRC has never been fancy. We have always been proud of what we could accomplish in a bare-bones facility. Now, however, we are outgrowing our Quonset huts. To keep up with our clients’ needs for quality applied research, we are embarking on a major, two-part expansion.

In Phase I, we are adding a $2-million, 11,000-square-foot Engineering Design Center. It will house three new facilities where student engineers will work on military and industry projects.

Through your tax-deductible donation, you can help the Keweenaw Research Center continue to do great research and educate great engineers.
