Daniel D. Greenlee is a native of Calumet, Michigan. He received his B.S. degree in business administration in 1974 from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Michigan. Mr. Greenlee is a certified public accountant.
Mr. Greenlee was appointed to his current position as the President of the Michigan Tech Fund, in June of 2014. Previously, he was Michigan Tech University's Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for the Board of Control for 13 years. As the President of the Michigan Tech Fund, he is responsible for endowment investments and investment manager relationships, along with general fiduciary responsibilities.
Mr. Greenlee was hired as Controller at the University in 1999. As the Controller of the University he was responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, plant fund, research accounting, purchasing, property office, and financial reporting and tax issues. In 2001, Mr. Greenlee was promoted to the CFO of the University and appointed as the Treasurer of the Board of Control. He remained in those positions until June, 2014.
Prior to coming to the University, Mr. Greenlee served as senior vice president/controller at D&N Bank, Hancock, Michigan. He began his career at D&N Bank in 1984 and prior to becoming their senior vice president/controller, he served in a variety of positions, as: secondary market services, financial analysis, asset management, and treasurer/portfolio manager.
Mr. Greenlee's early career experience began as a senior auditor for Arthur Young and Company CPAs (later Ernst & Young CPAs), and later, as a cost accounting supervisor for Niagara of Wisconsin Paper Corporation.
