Route to MTU from the East and Southeast

From the East and Southeast (Eastern U.P., Lower Michigan)

  1. Follow US-41 North
  2. US-41 becomes Townsend Drive. The Admissions Office is located in the Administration Building on the west end of campus. You will drive past Wadsworth Hall (on your left) and the Memorial Union Building (on your right)
  3. Turn right to enter the parking area in front of the Administration Building/Visitor Center. The Admissions Office is on the ground floor.

From the South (Green Bay, Milwaukee, Chicago)

  1. Follow US-141 to M-28 to US-41 North
  2. US-41 becomes Townsend Drive. The Admissions Office is located in the Administration Building on the west end of campus. You will drive past Wadsworth Hall (on your left) and the Memorial Union Building (on your right)
  3. Turn right to enter the parking area in front of the Administration Building/Visitor Center. The Admissions Office is on the ground floor.

From the Southwest (Northern & North Central Wisconsin)

  1. Follow US-45 to M-26
  2. You will drive down the Copper Country Mall hill, which is M-26, and head toward the Portage Lake Lift Bridge
  3. Stay in the right lane and follow the signs for US-41 South.
  4. US-41 heads east along Montezuma Avenue, College Avenue and Townsend Drive. The Administration Building is the start of the Michigan Tech campus and is on your left.
  5. Parking is available in front of the Administration Building/Visitor Center. The Admissions Office is on the ground floor.

  1. Follow US-2 to M-28 to US-45 to M-26

Directions from the Houghton County Memorial Airport to Michigan Tech

  1. Leave the airport and drive down Airport Road until you reach the stop sign at US-41.
  2. Turn Left (South) onto US-41. Continue through Hancock and over the bridge into Houghton.
  3. Follow US-41 South through the loop. About 2 miles from the bridge you will pass through Campus.
